DENTIST
AN EMAIL ON DENTIST COST
Hola (Oh-la) Everyone,
I received an email from Tony this week – this is his response, and my reply to the dental situation and living and working in Mexico:
Dear Barb,
I am writing in response to your e-mail about low dentist cost.
And you are right. I am having my teeth done now as we speak.
(Okay, I am not in the chair, but I am under a dentist’s care)
I lost my four front teeth back in 2005, and had not wanted to do anything because the dentist wanted to charge me $4500, ABOVE AND BEYOND what the insurance was going to pay!
I am paying $9000 pesos ($900 USD) for the bridge. I am thrilled to know I will have teeth again, especially since I now have a teaching job, teaching English to the people here. The pay is low, but the experience is exhilarating.
I REPLIED: Hi Tony – Good For You!!! Would love to hear more about your teaching experiences – so many people ask about that – I’ve written many times about the pay in Mexico – some people just don’t get it. But, if I can pass even more info along – well, we try. Barbie
